What Are You Thankful For?

This picture of Miroslav Klose celebrating his goal in the 1-0 victory over Russia this weekend got me thinking: What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?  I was expecting to be thankful for a quiet week of blogging as most professional leagues took a break so their players could compete in WC qualifiers. Actually though turns out there is still plenty of news for us to talk about, but thats alright, it made me realize I’m thankful for some other stuff too:

I’m thankful I don’t have to play with French coach Raymond Domenech. Here’s Dom pulling some schoolyard tricks against the Faroe Islands. Note the score, this was before France opened the floodgates on the 5-0 win, Dom was definitely getting nervous with no goal scored after half an hour and was looking for any edge he could get.

I’m thankful its been so long since I was as responsible for a goal as Chilean defender Gary Medel was in their match against Columbia.

Chile would actually go on to win 4-2 officially crushing Columbia’s WC dreams, too bad because I like the Columbians.

I’m thankful my games are never delayed by swarms of bees taking over the field.

I’m thankful Riquelme is still out there, playing the beautiful game and hooking up great assists.

And finally, to switch from one Football to another, I’m glad I’m not Owen Shmitt.
